When renters are ready to buy, just about everyone can give a referral, or you can walk into a local real estate office and get assigned an agent. This option is easy, but it pays you nothing!
Good For Real Estate Agents and Brokers
The buyer’s agent and seller’s agent typically split a 6% commission. Referrals to qualified buyers and sellers are worth a lot of money, so agents place ads, mail postcards, buy leads and spend countless hours networking to find clients – that’s a lot of money and time for leads that may or may not pan out. Tenant Rewards only charges the agent or broker a fee if our referral buys a home. That fee turns into cash for you!
Step #1: Register
Registration is free, easy and confidential. Your landlord will not know you’re considering moving until the day you give formal notice (ideally per the terms in your rental agreement).

Step #2: Meet Your Rewards Advisor
Your Tenant Rewards Advisor will be there for you from start to finish. We’ll arrange a time to discuss your needs, goals and timeline for your upcoming purchase. Your advisor will not refer an agent until you are ready to get pre-qualified for a loan and start shopping. Need a lender referral? Just ask your Rewards Advisor!
Step #3: Meet Your Real Estate Agent/Broker
Your Rewards Advisor will personally select a Real Estate Agent or Broker that is best qualified to help you find your dream home. We’ll make the introduction and your agent or broker will take it from there.
If for any reason you aren’t a good fit with your match, call your Rewards Advisor to provide feedback and we’ll introduce you to someone better suited.
Step #4: Buy a Home, Collect Your Rewards
After the introduction, the home buying process proceeds as normal. Your agent or broker will help you search for a home, have it inspected, negotiate the deal and arrange the financing.
As an enrolled Tenant Rewards participant, you will receive a 20% cash back reward based on the Agent’s/Broker’s commissions after closing the transaction.
Tenant Rewards Example:
Home Purchase Price: $300,000
Buyer’s Agent/Broker 3% Commission: $9,000*
Tenant Rewards 20% Cash Back: $1,800
($300,000 * 3% * 20% = $1,800.00 in cash for you!)
*Assumes Agent/Broker total commission of 6.00%, split evenly between the Listing & Selling Agent/Broker

*Real estate commissions are always paid by the home seller
*The amount of a renter’s actual security deposit refund is subject to the condition of the property and the terms of the lease. Tenant Rewards Cash Back is paid direct to the renter and is possibly subject to taxation as income.
